U.S. Patent No. 10,420,809 B2 (‘809) issued on September 24, 2019, for “buccal and Sublingual Cannabinoid Formulations and Method of Making the Same.”  It was issued to inventor Kenton L. Crowley of Temecula, California.  The applicant/assignee is Farm to Farma, Inc. of Incline Village, Nevada.  The specification discloses a process for making a troche, or lozenge, for therapeutic use containing cannabinoids, polyethylene glycol (PEG), and flavoring agents.  One embodiment includes a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)/cannabidiol (CBD) compound, along with PEG and a therapeutic flavor agent, like Luo Han Guo.  Another embodiment includes a higher concentration of Δ9-THC.  The ‘809 claims are directed to composition which consists essentially of a cannabis extract, PEG, and Luo Han Guo, with further limitations for an essential oil consisting essentially of peppermint, sweet orange, ginger, tangerine, and mango, CBD:THC ratio in the range of 24000:1 to 1:24000, CBD concentration of 99%-99.9%, and cannabis extract consisting essentially of various cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids.
