MWC Barcelona 2020 (formerly Mobile World Congress) is was set to open open February 24 – 27, 2020, in Barcelona, Spain, as the the world’s largest mobile industry trade show.  However, due to the coronavirus, the trade show was cancelledThere are over 200 exhibitors, one of which is LG Electronics Inc.  A recently-issued patent is U.S. Patent No. 10,404,857, (‘857) issued September 3, 2019, entitled “Mobile terminal.”  The inventors are Taehoon Cho and Chulbae Lee of Seoul, Korea.  The applicant/assignee is LG Electronics Inc. of Seoul, Korea.

The specification discloses embodiments utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to enable automated phone tasks, eliminating the need for the user (i.e., a human) to waste resources or time on performing that particular phone task.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the artificial intelligence performs the telephone conversation, which annoys a user or is unnecessary for the user, in place of the user.  Accordingly, the user may save time and may feel convenient.  (‘857, p. 25, col. 1, ln. 57-61.)

The claims are directed to the claim 1 apparatus of the mobile terminal, comprising the microphone, memory, touchscreen, transceiver, and the various controllers, and claim 15 method for processing the AI-induced telephone conversation mode.

The Cooperative Patent Classifications are H04M, telephonic communication, namely, automatic or semi-automatic exchanges with centralized arrangements for answering calls (3/50), devices where a plurality of signals may be stored simultaneously controlled by voice recognition (1/271), substation extension arrangements or cordless telephones with means for supporting locally a plurality of applications to increase functionality (1/72522) and according to geographic location (1/72572); G05B, control or regulating systems, namely, systems controlled by a computer through electronic means (15/02); and G10L, speech analysis or synthesis, namely, procedures used during a speech recognition process, e.g., man-machine dialogue (15/22).
